Job Summary



Are you looking for a dental assistant position in an orthodontic practice? At Pioneer Orthodontics, you'll work confidently with the knowledge that you're helping create beautiful smiles.  We are growing and would love to have you be part of the family and assist us with patient care and office reception tasks. As part of the team, you'll learn more about dental terminology, dental software and some dental technology, all to better assist our patients and help you be more proficient in your position. Job Responsibilities


  • Operate multi-line phone system professionally, efficiently and courteously, making sure calls are directed to the intended person.

  • Make patients feel at ease, check their appliances, remove archwires, help the doctor in bonding and debonding procedures, take xrays and pictures, fit bands, take impressions for appliances, take digital scans for orthodontic appliances and aligner.

  • Discuss treatment progression, oral hygiene with patient and parents.

  • Schedule follow-up appointments, consultations and treatments, making sure to provide patients with reminder cards and phone calls and noting appointments in the computer system.

  • Make all treatment notes and patient communication in the electronic chart.

  • Understand and follow latest OSHA, CDC regulations and policies.

  • Follow all sterilization procedures and latest clinical procedures and protocols.

  • Review treatment and post-treatment care instructions with specialists, patients and patient families, and answer all questions or direct the patient/individual to the proper person.

  • Maintain organization and confidentiality of all patient records according to the latest HIPAA standards and requirements.




Job Skills & Qualifications



Required

 

  • United States Citizen

  • Over 18 Years of Age


Preferred


  • Willingness to learn Ortho2 Software and adjunct software systems.

  • Bilingual in Spanish
