Role Data Analyst / Technical Business Analyst Location NYC, NY -10013 (Hybrid - 3 days onsite) Position type 12+ months with high possibility of extension
Job description The Markets Transformation team works with all Global Markets businesses and multiple Client functions, including Legal, Compliance, Finance and O&T to identify, mobilize and execute responses to regulatory and cross-business transformational projects.
This role will be responsible for creating and managing a material client dataset that will track remediation for all clients in-scope for FINRA 4210. This covers 1,000 clients and 13K individual client entities.
Responsibilities Building and running Excel/SQL queries to analyse, reconcile, and interrogate data. Consolidate datasets from various workstreams including Legal docs, Risk, Onboarding etc. to facilitate an entity by entity view of remediation status with functionality to provide a roll-up at client level. Weekly metrics will be required for senior management. Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex logic, data, and system processes. Consult with business end users to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new projects and process enhancements. Quality control information before responding to stakeholders. Identify key project risks, whether stated or not, and manage to resolution or escalate accordingly. Developing individual project artifacts as necessary including Business Requirements Documentation (BRDs), Functional Requirements Documentation (FRDs), test planning and scenario documents for user acceptance testing (UAT), project plans as required for all key technical deliveries. Day-to-day management of individual project responsibilities including milestone setting, task and actions management, co-ordination and execution of plan within required timelines and to stakeholder quality expectations.

Key Skills required - 4+ years Business Analysis experience.
- Experience with data governance such as developing a data framework, compiling data attributes and components, and consolidating and evidencing data acquisitions from multiple sources.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Responsiveness and attention to detail are critical given this dataset will be used to drive client follow-up for a material client population including Platinum and other Business Priority clients.
- Ability to operate effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Extensive Excel/SQL experience.
- Highly proficient in use of Excel for data analysis.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to effectively produce reports, documentation, and communicate with senior management. Ability to seamlessly communicate complex technical issues to non-technical colleagues.
- Self starter with the ability to work independently.
Key Skills preferred - Experience within an investment banking or financial services environment.
- Experience in writing code in Python to automate processes.
- Hadoop / Big Data domain experience and exposure to Hive, Impala, and Spark ecosystem technologies.
