Costco Wholesale Corporation is seeking a Data Engineer for its Issaquah, Washington office.
Job Duties: Develop and operationalize data pipelines to bring data into the various test environments used for the development of our certified data sets. Design data pipelines and recommend ongoing optimization of data storage, data ingestion, data quality and orchestration. Design, develop, and implement ETL/ELT/CDC processes using Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS), Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue and other ETL products. Improve and speed delivery of data products and services utilizing Azure services such as Azure SQL DW (Synapse), ADLS, Azure Event Hub, Cosmos, Databricks, and Delta-Lake. Implement big data and NoSQL solutions by developing scalable data processing platforms to drive high-value insights to the organization. Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing test data delivery. Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality of data management. Utilize various methods and tools to obscure PII and other sensitive data. Telecommuting permitted.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Plus one year of experience in: Engineering and operationalizing data pipelines with large and complex datasets; Informatica IICS, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, or other ETL tools; Working with Cloud technologies such as ADLS, Azure Databricks, Spark, Azure Synapse, and Cosmos DB; Implementing data integration techniques such as event/message-based integration and ETL; and Writing complex SQL queries against a variety of data sources.
Alternative requirements: Three years of experience in: Engineering and operationalizing data pipelines with large and complex datasets; Informatica IICS, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, or other ETL tools; Working with Cloud technologies such as ADLS, Azure Databricks, Spark, Azure Synapse, and Cosmos DB; Implementing data integration techniques such as event/message-based integration and ETL; and Writing complex SQL queries against a variety of data sources.
