Data Center Operations (NE, Ohio)



The Data Center Operations Technician (DCOT) is responsible for supporting the organization's clients, and the technical infrastructure and platforms. The Technician will work individually and on teams/projects to maintain data center systems. This position is responsible for installation, configuration, implementation, support, and maintenance of hardware, software, and facility components throughout the data center. This role is a customer facing position, and is responsible for the direct support of SecureData 365's business clients.



The DCOT will respond to calls/trouble tickets from clients for hardware, software, network assistance and problem resolution while ensuring that negotiated service level agreements are met. The DCOT will troubleshoot a wide range of data center and client problems while remaining accountable for the successful resolution. Among other tasks, the DCOT will be expected to perform systems and software upgrades, drive configuration changes for users, install and repair cabling systems, and perform various other hardware maintenance activities.



The DCOT reports directly to the Operations Manager and also will work with the Senior Engineering Team.



Our main office is located in Canton, OH with a second location in Cleveland, OH. The applicant must be available to travel between locations to work if necessary. Interviews are being given at this time for the Canton location.



Responsibilities:

- Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in network and facilities systems including: server, network, software, and building (electrical, mechanical, etc.)

- Track and report on all work efforts and assigned system status.

- Monitor and track assigned core infrastructure and network.



- Answer and resolve ticket requests - including remote hands tasks.



- Rack servers and network equipment; make, test, and run copper, fiber, coax, cables.



- Create and maintain data center documentation and labeling per standards.

- Maintain site facilities needs according to data center standards health and safety requirements.

- Perform other scheduled and ad-hoc work as needed.

- Work according to scheduled shift, and perform on-call support as needed.



- Provide a high level of customer service for customer and vendors onsite.



- Follow Standard Operating Procedures to complete company and customer related tasks.



Key Requirements:

- Associate's Degree and/or Bachelor's Degree in an Information Technology, or related discipline strongly preferred; or two years relevant work experience.

- Proven technical experience with networking, servers, and operations.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Good organization skills with the ability to work on multiple projects and/or assignments simultaneously.

- Good problem solving skills with the ability to find successful resolutions for issues of basic complexity, escalating those that require management involvement, when necessary.

- Outstanding customer service skills.

- Must be able to work under general supervision in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and changing priorities.

- Ability to learn quickly and address issues during normal working hours or when on call.

- The ability to pay close attention to details.



Job Types:

Part-Time; (32hrs /wk)



Position requires shift work that includes weekends and holidays. Must work Saturday's and Sunday's 12:00AM - 12:00PM and one day during the week.
