Type 12+ months with potential to extend Location Seattle, WA (OFFICE Visit Once every 3 months) Exp required 15+ years Job Description: Data Architect Overview: The Data Architect is responsible for aligning data architecture with enterprise strategy and business architecture. This role ensures consistent data standardization and integration across the organization, supporting data architecture work for both the Utility Technology Roadmap and the Enterprise Data Strategy. The Data Architect will participate in Roadmap Governance Group and Architecture Review Board meetings, working closely with Enterprise Architects, Business Architects, and Solution Architects to provide data architecture artifacts for Utility Technology projects. Additionally, the role involves building out the organization's enterprise data model and supporting planning for an enterprise data hub and common information model. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement the client's enterprise data management strategy. Enable consistent data standardization and integration across the organization. Establish guiding principles for data architecture work. Translate business needs into data and system requirements. Provide best practice solutions for data collection, storage, arrangement, usage, and removal. Ensure initiative and project-level solutions adhere to strategic direction. Support Business Architects and other Domain Architects during solution analysis. Provide technical support for the design, maintenance, and interpretation of relational databases, data marts, and data hubs. Develop and maintain formal descriptions of data and data structures. Define best practices for ETL to support analysis and business intelligence solutions. Track, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies for data management, data science, storage, and analytics. Establish a standard vocabulary for data and components. Contribute content to RFIs or RFPs for an enterprise data hub. Act as an agent for change, transformation, and agility. Ability to work well with technical experts to achieve business results. Qualifications: 5+ years of experience as a Data Architect. Deep business and technical experience with the utility industry. Proven experience implementing an enterprise data architecture program or leading strategic projects. Experience with ArchiMate, TOGAF, or other enterprise modeling standards. Experience creating ArchiMate diagrams for documenting solution and reference architectures. Expertise in data modeling-conceptual, logical, physical data models, and data flow diagrams. Proficiency with data modeling and reverse engineering tools like TOAD or similar. Experience with enterprise database systems such as Oracle and SQL Server. Experience with EPRI Common Information Model (CIM Proven experience with both cloud and on-prem architectures. Experience with data management and data governance best practices.
