Role:  Senior DW/BI Developer

Summary: 

The DW/BI Developer is responsible for meeting with Business Analytics team, Healthcare BAs   &  product  development managers to integrate new quantitative metrics and/or processes into the overall data warehouse platform to expand capabilities and functionality. The Senior DW Developer is responsible for ensuring data integrity and report consistency across all data warehouse reporting platforms. Additionally, the position needs to work with software, operations,  technical implementation to coordinate the new customer and/or product implementation into  Data Warehouse platform.



Responsibilities:

•    Collaborate and work with the data warehouse Managers, Architects and lead engineers to design processing framework for data warehouse in Azure Synapse. Will start with on premise and will take 

•    Create innovative solutions leveraging cloud platform services to solve client business challenges.

•    Coordinate with lead data engineer to design, build, monitor, and manage data pipelines and other solutions.

•    Use big data processing techniques to load Azure Synapse data warehouse and Data Lake.

•    Work with Project Manager, Business Analyst and DW Architect to support all aspects of the DW/BI implementation.

•    Evaluate different Azure product offerings for best fit to the requirements. Ability to create proof of concepts (POC) to demonstrate features and functionality across a range of Azure offerings.

•    Migrate existing data sets from on-premises servers to new data warehouse format in Azure Synapse

•    Work with lead engineer to implement auditing and monitoring framework and ensure appropriate documentation of implemented solutions.

•    Research and discover new methods to acquire data, and create new applications for existing data.

•    Responsible for handling data pipeline code in repository (Git, Azure DevOps)

•    Work closely with the product, client services and the analytics teams to support new client implementations as well as analytical solutions, including New Unit, savings, scorecard, slippage, etc.  Methodologies for new programs as well as clients.

•    Ability to create and interpret Visio process and workflow diagrams.

•    Skilled in handling multiple deadline driven assignments with the ability to initiate, supervise and complete projects and assignments with minimal supervision.

•    Understand the products/programs/services provided by HealthHelp and knowledge of our various utilization management programs.

•    Define and implement the overall business intelligence team goals and tasks in terms of scope, quality, budget, and schedule.

•    Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

•    Facilitates organizational data strategies for governance, design, implementation, integration and usage.



Education/Experience:

•    Master’s or Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, mathematics, engineering, information technology, business or related field required

•    6+ years of data oriented solution design and development experience in Microsoft BI Stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, T-SQL & MDX Programming) on premise and Cloud DW/BI

•    Participated in at least one(1) on-premises to cloud data migration project in the last three(3) years functioning in a senior technical data/solution role.

•    3+ years’ hands on experience implementing and supporting a range of Microsoft Azure DW solutions, such as Azure Data Factory pipelines, Azure Synapse Services, Azure Data Lake Store, Blob Storage, etc.

•    Strong experience in Azure architecture and usage of Azure services. Hands on with Azure serverless design creating on demand scalable and highly available applications.

•    Azure experience - Azure functions, Azure PaaS and IaaS solutions, Azure security, Azure App services, encryption and key management principles, and secure cloud design patterns.

•    Experience working with Healthcare data is preferred.

•    Implementation experience with Azure Synapse, ADF V2, ADF Data pipelines, Azure Databricks, SQLDB/Hyperscale, ADLS Gen 2 and other Azure services.

•    Experience with SSIS package development for both Azure and local SQL Server environments.

•    Experience managing Azure Data Lakes (ADLS) and Data Lake Analytics and an understanding of how to integrate with other Azure Services. Knowledge of USQL and how it can be used for data transformation as part of a cloud data integration strategy

•    Knowledge in the design and implementation of streaming solutions using Kafka or Azure Stream Analytics preferred

•    Knowledge of Open Source Software (Apache Hive, Spark, Impala, Hadoop, etc.)

•    Experience in ETL/ELT design patterns for authoring data pipelines.

•    Experience working with various database solutions across platforms.

•    Experience configuring and tuning cloud hosted solutions and services. 

•    Experience supporting production applications and workloads in a cloud-based environment. 

•    Experience with performance analysis, troubleshooting and remediation techniques.
