Alani Nu, a rapidly growing health and wellness brand, is seeking a Creative Director to lead the art direction group and oversee the development and execution of Alani Nu creative assets alongside the VP of Creative. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in creative direction, design, branding, and marketing, as well as experience leading and managing a team of designers and content creators. The Creative Director will report to the Vice President of Creative.

What We Need From You

  • More direction, less design. We are looking for a creative leader who will bring big ideas to the table and lead a team of art directors to execute on time, in budget and on brand.
  • Align with the VP of Creative to ensure consistent direction, style, and methodology for the brand.
  • Develop and execute the brand's creative vision and direction across all channels, including digital, social media, print, and packaging.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement integrated marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness, engagement, and sales.
  • Lead and manage a team of art directors to ensure the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of all creative assets.
  • Demonstrate strategic and conceptual thinking, a strong taste level, and experience in photo/art direction, typography, and graphic design.
  • Manage the creative production process from concept to delivery, ensuring that all assets are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
  • Establish and maintain the brand's visual and creative identity, including the development of brand guidelines, design templates, and creative briefs.
  • Maintain and build upon the look, feel, accuracy, and functionality of the brands identity.
  • Review all art and photography to ensure factual accuracy and adequacy of selling messages and creative effectiveness.
  • Provide personal accountability for the accuracy of all final art for assigned projects.
  • Work with the project management team to delegate tasks.
  • Ability to travel for occasional press checks and photo/video shoots.
  • Set the bar high and get there fast without sacrificing quality for speed.
  • Perform competitive assessments and provide innovative alternatives, as well as research and understand design, marketing, and technology trends.
  • Present visual concepts and ideas in an organized, compelling, effective manner.
  • You have no problem rolling up your sleeves and hustling in order to get the job done.
  • You must be comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment where ambiguity and short turnaround schedules are the standard.
  • Ability to give insightful and constructive feedback to your team.
  • You must excel in managing multiple projects, priorities, and people concurrently.
  • Foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and collaboration within the creative team and across the organization.

Requirements

  • 7+ years as a creative director or senior art team leader.
  • Experience leading and managing a team of designers and content creators.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • Talent to inspire team members to create amazing visuals.
  • Skilled in working under pressure and delivering results within tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Fluent in all creative software (i.e. Adobe Creative Cloud), prototyping tools, etc. and familiar with Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Strong foundational skills including composition, design, and color theory.
  • Must have the ability to take and give constructive criticism and maintain a professional attitude.
  • Exhibit a high degree of ownership and accountability.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Work independently as well as in a team environment.
