General Summary and Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

The Corporate Accountant supports the Corporate Accounting group in a key accounting role and is responsible for the month-end close process, reconciliation reporting, variance analysis, audits, enforcing department accounting policies and other ad-hoc projects. Additionally, this role assists with our internal and external financial reporting.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities to Include:

  • Responsible for the assisting in monthly and quarterly closing process for multiple separate company financial statements including reconciliation of balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Improves and assists in the creation of new processes to optimize and standardize accounting processes.
  • Responsible for performing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual accounting requirements, including but not limited to journal entries, reconciliations, analysis of activities and reporting.
  • Specific areas of responsibility include support of daily cash application and weekly cash forecasts. Regular review of expense reporting and forecasting. Assist in the annual budget process.
  • Consolidation of multiple entities ensuring that all intercompany accounts are properly reconciled and eliminated.
  • Assist in preparation of annual GAAP financial statements including footnotes.
  • Supports coordination of data gathering for external audits and federal, state, and property tax returns.
  • Performs other special projects as needed.
  • Partners with peers on the team as well as cross functionally with those in other areas.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or related field.
  • ERP experience, preferably with SAP.
  • Advanced Excel Skills (Pivot Tables, function/formula understanding).
  • Strong analytical mind-set.
  • Learning agility / comfortable in a fast-paced and highly flexible environment.
  • Strong organizer.
  • Ability to quickly summarize data and capture changing assumptions.
  • Self-motivation and desire to progress to higher, more demanding roles within Finance.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing and/or knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures within a manufacturing environment.
