Associate or Senior Associate needed at a prominent New York City real estate law firm located in midtown Manhattan. The ideal candidate should possess expertise with cooperative and condominium work in the NYC area along with various real estate matters.

Responsibilities


  • Provide strategic legal advice to co-op and condominium board members and managing agents on governance, operations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Draft, review, and interpret governing documents (e.g., bylaws, amendments, declarations).
  • Draft, review, and negotiate AIA contracts as well as access agreements.
  • Prepare offering plans for new developments and amendments to existing plans.
  • Assist with enforcement of community regulations and filing of liens.
  • Handle the transfer of co-op and condominium shares to individuals and/or other entities (e.g., estates).
  • Negotiate and draft leases, vendor contracts, as well as other agreements.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications


  • High degree of academic achievement with a law degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
  • Active New York State Bar license and in good standing.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of New York condo/coop law experience.
  • Strong negotiating skills, excellent analytical and research skills.
  • Interest in working with a collaborative team and flexible to handle all assigned tasks.
  • Computer savvy with excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and takes enormous pride in their work.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and writing skills to communicate with a diverse group of attorneys and staff.
  • Ability to independently multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively.

Compensation and Benefits

  • $175,000 - $250,000 + base compensation
  • Hybrid Work Schedule (and then some)
