MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

Direct responsibility for working with Manager and Engineering Team to optimize plant and production lines efficiency through the maintenance, effective modification of plant and production control systems, including but not limited to PLC systems, Building Operation System, CIP system, processing and warehouse instrumentation and data recording



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Key Outputs Measurements / Performance Indicators

? Daily maintenance and troubleshooting of PLC platforms, Building Operation WorkStation, CIP software, WWTP and RTO software, processing and warehouse instrumentation

? Hardware diagnostics and maintenance: cleaning of controls cabinets, cabinet cooling installation, battery replacement, organizing cabinets and maintaining tidy wiring

? Software maintenance and upgrades; program archiving; retaining of the most recent backup

? Advise on parts, components and updated software ordering

? Maintain documentation for installation, maintenance and troubleshooting procedures for reference purposes.

? Participate in test and approval of new equipment logic and communication before hand-off.

? First point of contact for projects requiring logic further development and/or I/O addition

? Improve quality of interfaces, general controls improvement, eliminate control issues based on operators and techs requests

? Upgrading product sensing equipment, selecting least expensive, reliable and long-life span

? Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job

? Availability to support production online

? Adheres to all Safety and GMP regulations.

? Other duties or projects as assigned

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

? Comprehensive knowledge of the standard principles and concepts of mechanical design and machine automation

? In-depth knowledge of PLC programming, troubleshooting, implementation of new control schemes, Servo drives, stepper motors, and pneumatic actuators as part of machine automation

? Knowledge of CMMS and HMI programming

? High energy, productive, team player.

? Strong oral and written communication skills.

? Has the ability to work collaboratively and demonstrate effective listening skills.

? Demonstrates commitment to safety.

? Proficient in RSL Logic 5000/500, HMI development, Logix Designer, Microsoft Office Suite, GE, Mitsubishi and Omron

? Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

? Two-year college in mechatronics or PLC is preferred but not required

? Formal PLC and/or Robotics training classes required

? Five years of industrial programming experience, strong electrical and instrument skills

? Five years of experience in Food and Beverage Industry

? Experience modifying, maintaining, installing processes control computer system applications, specifically PLC and HMIs system software and hardware

? Experience on AB, ABB, GE, Mitsu, Fanuc

? Experience and training related to governmental rules, regulations, electrical code, safeguarding safety systems

? Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, computer printouts, system requirements and programs, contracts, manuals.
