We're looking for creative, self-motivated folks to capture the magic of our summer programs through photographs and videos of students and staff.

EXPLO is a mission-driven, educational non-profit with more than 88,000 student alumni who hail from 90 countries. We offer residential summer programs for students in grades 4 through 12 on three of the most beautiful college campuses on the East Coast of the U.S. We strive to build a collaborative, transdisciplinary learning environment at our programs, where students drive their own learning through exploration.

The Opportunity

The Content Marketing Intern will be responsible for capturing and creating compelling content for our summer programs that aligns with our company's brand voice and style and can drive traffic, generate leads, and build brand awareness. The ideal candidate should have a passion for storytelling and creativity. The Marketing Content Intern will report directly to the Director of Marketing and will be responsible for the following duties.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Capture photos and videos of program activities and events
  • Conduct interviews with students, staff, and parents to gather stories and testimonials
  • Create social media content that highlights our programs and engages our audience including captions
  • Edit photos and videos to create engaging content for our website and marketing materials
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop and execute creative campaigns that drive enrollment and engagement
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar for the summer for their specific program

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university, preferably in a communications, marketing, or related field.
  • Availability to work on campus for the duration of the summer program
  • Experience in photography and videography, either through coursework or personal projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to conduct interviews with students and adults
  • Proficiency in editing software such as Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to coordinate with cross functional teams across all levels of the organization.
  • Must possess a sense of urgency and "get it done" mentality when working with multiple tasks and deadlines.

Compensation + Benefits

This is a flexible 40-hour-a-week seasonal position that begins in mid-June 2023 and will include pre-planned night and weekend work to capture all of the magic of our programs. For the health and safety of our community, EXPLO requires all employees and new hires to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
