About the role The MATTER marketing team is responsible for telling the MATTER story through content, events and communications that span a variety of platforms and channels. We are looking for a passionate and collaborative content marketing associate to help scale MATTERs content marketing efforts. Our ideal candidate is a creative marketing professional, preferably with a writing background. You have the ability to translate complex topics and insights from subject matter experts into engaging content that helps attract and retain customers. You are familiar with content marketing trends and technologies and are adept at working across mediums and implementation platforms to deliver your content. This position reports to the marketing director. In this role, you will: - Design content strategies that achieve short- and long-term goals and initiatives
- Serve as MATTERs main content contributor. You will regularly conceive, plan and develop multi-channel content (email, blog, video, podcast, graphic, event, etc.)
- Manage the editorial calendar, set deadlines and assign pieces, contributing 5-8 content pieces per month
- Collaborate with other departments to develop content relevant to our communities
- Identify, field requests for, and develop case studies that showcase MATTERs value proposition to potential customers
- Use your working knowledge of SEO to conduct keyword research for content optimization
- Lead MATTERs content distribution strategy, working with other marketing team members to plan social media, email, events and other channels
- Develop and deploy MATTERs blog content on social media and lead deployment and quality assurance for social media posts drafted by other team members
- Support public relations efforts through the development of press releases
- Set, monitor and report on content-related KPIs and benchmarks and suggest strategy improvements
Qualifications: - 4+ years experience in marketing, communications, journalism or a related field
- Strong interpersonal and interviewing skills
- Familiarity with inbound marketing methodology and tactics
- Familiarity with AP Style
- Familiarity using content management systems and CRM (i.e., Wordpress, Salesforce)
- Understanding of visual design principles and trends
- Background working in healthcare, innovation or startup sector a plus
Skills: - Copywriting and editing
- Interviewing
- Proficiency in other mediums like graphic design, video editing (Final Cut, Premier, etc.), podcasting a plus but not a requirement
- Project management
- A strong communicator and relationship builder with the ability to excel in independent, fast-paced working environments
- Detail oriented
- Strong time management skills
