This position will be located (Kochi) and will be a Hybrid working environment. Hybrid working is a combination of in-person collaboration in the office and remote working.The Hybrid work combination will consist of 3 days in the office and two days remote. Your Role and Responsibilities Software Developers at IBM are the backbone of our strategic initiatives to design, code, test, and provide industry-leading solutions that make the world run today planes and trains take off on time, bank transactions complete in the blink of an eye and the world remains safe because of the work our software developers do. Whether you are working on projects internally or for a client, software development is critical to the success of IBM and our clients worldwide. At IBM, you will use the latest software development tools, techniques and approaches and work with leading minds in the industry to build solutions you can be proud of. As a Content Design Software Developer you: Work closely with content designers internally and externally to deliver documentation Have an interest in, understanding of, or experience with Agile development methodology What You ll Do: - Work in an Agile, collaborative environment to test, operate, and support applications for our Content Designers. You will also document and educate content designers in the use of those applications.
- Manage omni-channel publication from a single content source
- Troubleshoot issues with various tools including IBM s content repositories and publishing tools, Oxygen XML Author, IDCMS, GitHub, DITA, Markdown, Oxygen XML Web Author, and TeamReview
Communicate with writing teams about new content tool functions, application updates, patches, and outages - Identifying possible tool improvements and prioritization of improvements. Through their experience supporting and working with content designers, engineers have the opportunity to invent, design, prototype, and propose solutions to encountered problems, using their full-stack application development skills and knowledge of the latest trends in software engineering, such as artificial intelligence. Ideally, these ideas can involve collaborating with other developers across organizations and with designers and data analysts who collect customer feedback and gather metrics on usage.
- Understand legal and regulatory compliance: intellectual property, copyrights, trademarks, GDPR compliance etc.
- Maintain existing code [Product Hub, Props Dashboard, testing apps, HTML generators, various command-line utilities, ], which require knowledge of or the ability to learn Javascript, Python, Ruby, Perl, Jekyll, Hugo, Javadoc, Doxygen, Bash scripting, and more.
- Exploit modern DevOps methods in cloud, infrastructure, test, and build to deploy and operate some of these applications and utilities.

- Thrive on collaboration, working side by side with people of all backgrounds and disciplines, and have very strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Great at solving problems, debugging, troubleshooting, designing and implementing solutions to complex technical issues.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise - Basic knowledge in one or more of the following technology areas: HTML, CSS, DITA, markdown, and source repositories or CMSes such as git or Filenet
- Basic understanding of software development and programming languages (Python, JavaScript)
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle and documentation publishing process.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise - Knowledge of Jira, Jenkins, MacOS and Windows administration and support, Batch and shell scripting
- Knowledge of front-end development and graphical design for AI and SVG formats
