Collection Support Associate Location: US-MD-Rockville Email this job to a friend

The Collection Support Associate assists the Collection Development Manager in daily duties involving both acquisitions and cataloging. The position is responsible for producing and distributing various reports for the Collection Management Team, the libraries, and LS&S departments. The position is also responsible for managing eResource records and LIQ users as well as assisting in fiscal year rollover processes.
ResponsibilitiesAn individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. - Produce all Acquisitions reports related to a librarys fiscal year, funds, orders, and invoices, and distributing them as scheduled (or requested)
- Coordinate documentation of departmental procedures
- Respond to inquiries from library staff and supply support to them in a timely manner
- Manage monthly and quarterly updates to eResource records
- Assist in ending and beginning of fiscal years for LS&S and LIQ library customers
- Handle any Acquisitions or Cataloging-related Spiceworks tickets, as applicable
- Manage user creation and assigning permissions in LIQ
- Provide copy cataloging and records management for a select number of libraries
- Update information in Acquisitions or in the vendor sites, as needed
- Respond to staff training requests
- Other duties as assigned (e.g., monthly fund summary reports, scheduling of departmental meetings)
Requirements An individual should possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed and meet the amount of education, training and/or work experience required. - High school graduation/GED required; Some college-level coursework desired
- Previous library experience a plus, especially in technical services
- Technologically experienced with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and other online resources
- Excellent customer service skills, with both internal and external customers, in person, on the phone, or through other electronic means (email, text, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and manage own time effectively
- Access to high-speed, reliable Internet
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritize effectively, and adapt flexibly to changing priorities and meet deadlines in a busy environment
- Experience with Polaris a plus
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task
- Work well with a diverse, company-wide staff
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to maintain interest with repetitive tasks

Physical Requirements: - Ability to sit for long periods of time and to maintain focus on projects such as computer screens or detailed paperwork.
