Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with implementing daily lesson plans, which includes indoor and outdoor activities


• Supervise children’s mealtime activities


• Interact with children frequently, affectionately and encourage their involvement in activities


• Develop a trusting relationship with children


• Assist children with activities of daily living, which may include but is not limited to, meal time, nap time, toileting (including diapering) and personal hygiene as needed


• Administer first aid when needed in accordance with the agency’s first aid guidelines


• Use appropriate positive discipline techniques that are consistent and fair to all children


• Greet each child and parent when they arrive and leave each day


• Establish and maintain communication with classroom team and director/owner


• Share pertinent information with director/owner and co-workers as needed


• Assist with accurately maintaining daily attendance reports, medication forms and logs, injury reports, etc., as directed


• Supervise children in all settings


• Monitor the welfare, health and safety of children in the group (indoors and outdoors)


• Identify and respond immediately to children in distress


• Ensure strict confidentiality of any and all pertinent information concerning children and their families and co-workers


• Assist with maintaining the daily appearance and organization of classroom


• Safely escort children to other areas of the center, on trips, etc. Benefit package: child care discount, paid vacation and holiday leave.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• CDA Credential or higher and 2 years experience working with children preferably in a child care setting


• Ability and willingness to work with all age groups


• Ability to identify and respond to a crisis immediately
