Wausau Country Club is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of Assistant Superintendent. Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior playing conditions for our members and their guests. Wausau Country Club is a Troon managed facility. We are in the beginning stages of planning a bunker renovation in the next couple years. The project will reduce the overall number and size of the bunkers, as well as use a new sand. Over the last 8 seasons, there has been a focus on strategic tree removal and limbing to promote better turf growing conditions. Currently we have Penncross/Poa greens, but will begin interseeding 007 next season and the years to come in an effort to transition to a better performing surface. With the big uptick in golf the last few years, the club has also focused effort to replace/update a lot of our mowing equipment. Job Responsibilities Spraying pesticide applications, fertilizing, hand watering/TDR measurements, assisting in planning daily/weekly tasks, irrigation set up, operation and maintenance/repair, off season equipment maintenance, tree limbing/removal, snow/ice removal, some record keeping. Job Requirements Possess a 2 or 4 year degree in turf or closely related field. Wisconsin Pesticide Applicator license or ability to attain within 60 days. Previous assistant superintendent experience preferred. Sprayer and fertilizing experience highly preferred. Ability to perform all daily tasks well to train staff in an efficient and skilled manner. Ability and desire to stay beyond an 8 hour work day when the need arises. Salary - $50,000+ D.O.E.
