Recruiter Contract: Lorenzo Ramirez | 559-909-4552 | Lorenzo@stardomconsult.com The Human Resource Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing and processing employee payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role involves a combination of administrative, analytical, and customer service duties to support the HR and finance departments. Key Responsibilities: - Payroll Processing:
- Calculate and process employee salaries, wages, and overtime accurately and on time.
- Verify and update employee data, including hours worked, deductions, and tax information.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Handle payroll adjustments, including bonuses, incentives, and deductions.
- Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and organized payroll records.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports for management and finance purposes.
- Assist in year-end payroll reporting and tax form generation (e.g., W-2, 1099).
- Benefits Administration:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits.
- Assist employees with benefit inquiries and changes.
- Tax Compliance:
- Calculate and process payroll taxes, including federal, state, and local taxes.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations.
- Customer Service:
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Assist employees with payroll-related documentation and forms.
- Data Integrity and Security:
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of payroll and employee data.
- Maintain data accuracy and integrity in the HR and payroll systems.
- Process Improvements:
- Identify and recommend process improvements to streamline payroll and HR processes.
- Assist in the implementation of new payroll and HR software or systems.
Qualifications and Skills: - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
- Previous experience in payroll processing and HR administration.
- Knowledge of payroll software and HRIS (Human Resources Information System).
- Understanding of payroll laws and regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Certifications (Optional): - Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR)
- Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP)
