Our client provides complete solutions for water treatment. The company provides speciality and general water treatment chemical conditioning services and equipment primarily for industrial clients. They are now recruiting for a Water Hygiene Technician to cover work in and around the Cambridge area, but not necessarily limited to this.

As Water Hygiene Technician you will be asked to complete water hygiene services on behalf of the company's client portfolio ensuring that all works comply with the requirements of ACOP L8 & HSG274. You will be the primary point of contact for clients during works on site and are responsible for the Health and Safety aspects of activities as well as ensuring all required reports are completed in a professional and timely fashion.

Key responsibilities;
To ensure that client sites are provided with the appropriate water hygiene services and are compliant with all industry specific and Health and Safety legislation
Communicating with customers to ensure that all work completed is satisfactory
Maintaining excellent site housekeeping
Conducting site surveys and preparing reports in a timely fashion for clients or Account Managers
Developing and maintaining relationships with key client personnel and all relevant stakeholders
Completing field documentation and reports and ensuring they are circulated to the relevant stakeholders within the required time frames
Maintaining equipment in accordance with any company or statutory prescribed inspection regime. Reporting any deficiencies or repairs required in a timely fashion
Being proactive in making recommendations to clients and/or Account Managers for improvements to existing systems
Responsible for maintaining an inventory of commonly required tools and spares for water hygiene works
Taking all reasonable steps to ensure your own safety and that of others, complying with all current legislation and any prevailing site rules. Reporting any accidents, incidents or near misses in accordance with Company or client policies
Work to achieve K.P. I's and targets set and agreed with line manager
To carry out Legionella and TVC sampling
Record results and add assets via Zeta mobile application
Liaising with the Water Hygiene Supervisor with regards to all technical issues and quotes
Maintain regular communication with Water Hygiene Supervisor and Account Managers

Candidates will ideally have the following
Full working knowledge of ACoP L8 and HSG274
Holder of current UK driving licence
Holder of a relevant Health and Safety qualification/passport
Holder of plumbing qualifications would be desirable
Experience with temperature monitoring of hot and cold water systems
Experience with clean and disinfection techniques for cooling towers / water storage tanks / calorifiers / showers
Experience inspecting cooling towers / water tanks / calorifiers
Ability to professionally identify and complete necessary remedial requirements of water systems
Experience using Zeta mobile or equivalent programme
Strong communication skills both verbally and written, with the versatility to communicate at all levels in a clear and concise manner
Demonstrable experience of having built strong working relationships both internally and externally
Able to work as part of a team or on own initiative
Problem-solving ability
