Job Title: Production Supervisor
Location: Waterloo, Iowa
Salary: $60-75K plus OT
Job Summary of the Production Supervisor: The Production Supervisor will plan, direct, and coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications.
Job Responsibilities of the Production Supervisor:
Resolves ergonomic and safety compliance issues in production.
Verifies conformance of finished work-piece to specifications and provides documentation.
Reviews production orders or schedules.
Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
Oversees the flow of production.
Closes all completed and some partial work orders.
Assures accuracy of labor data in payroll system.
Examines documents such as blueprints, drawings, change orders and specifications to verify completeness and accuracy of data.
Responsible for identifying and implementing continuous improvement projects to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost of his/her assigned manufacturing operations.
Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
Education & Experience:
1. BS Degree preferred in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering or relatetechnology or equivalent of five (5) years experience
2. Background in hydraulic cylinder manufacturing, plating, casting, or related/equivalent manufacturing arena (grinding, turning, cutting, milling, NC/CNC machinery and programming languages).
3. Must have a comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and various processes, tools and related manufacturing equipment. Personal computer experience preferred, with emphasis on usage on Microsoft Office Suite, and ERP/MRP applications.
4. Responsible for the training and development of team members.
5. Responsible for all performance and/or disciplinary actions for infractions of company rules or policies and to ensure compliance.
