3B is a 28-bed nursing unit that provides care to a diverse population of patients. Over the past year, 3B has served as our COVID unit. On average the unit has 5-8 COVID positive patients. The typical nurse to patient ratio is 1:4-5 on days and nights. Nurses are supported by Patient Care Unit Assistants and a Unit Desk Clerk. Staff work 8 or 12 hour shifts depending on their FTE status and rotate holidays and weekends. The nursing department has undergone a transition over the past year during which time a new unit was opened. This opportunity allowed nursing staff to transition to new roles leaving a void in some of our units. As we work to fill positions left vacated we are seeking caring nurses willing to help bridge the gap and assist us with providing high-quality, safe care to our patients.
