LPN Job Description Per Diem Emmanuel Home is a 38-bed non-profit personal care home located in Northumberland, PA. LPNs are chosen to become part of the Emmanuel Home team based on their capabilities, caring attitude, and teamwork. Professionalism and neat appearance are required. Individual must be 18 years of age or older, have a high school diploma or GED, and an active Pennsylvania LPN license. Individuals seeking employment at Emmanuel Home: Must have the ability to provide personal care services and administer medications with reasonable skill and safety.Must have the ability and apprehension to conform to all applicable federal, state, and local statues, rules, and regulations, including operating in compliance with the guidelines set forth by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.Responsible for all duties and resident care at Emmanuel Home.This includes caring for residents, working with other employees, establishing a good report with resident, staff, and families, and practicing safety and infection control prevention.Will report to the Director of Nursing Services and Innovation or Administrator and in their absence to the Resident Care Manager, shift team leader, or other designee.Take a leadership role in the care for resident personal care needs.Assist residents as needed with meeting his/her physical and emotional goals and needs. This includes assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting medications, and evacuation in the event of an emergency.Maintain and safe working and living environment for residents and staff.Assist Director of Nursing Services, Administrator and Resident Care Manager in ordering necessary supplies for routine care in a timely manner.Follow strict standards for infection control prevention, including donning and doffing personal protective equipment in proper sequence, sanitizing hands after each resident encounter and as needed, and practicing and promoting social distancing when possible.Must maintain current CPR certification and be trained in obstructive airway and first aid.Assist Emmanuel Home team in maintaining a clean and attractive environment.Restock supplies as (link removed)municate necessary information and directions as needed and at change of shift.Practice dependability and punctuality.Perform other tasks as required/assigned by the Director of Nursing, Resident Care Manger, or their designee.Maintain confidentiality of residents, staff, and families.Facilitate telehealth appointments as needed. Function as a resident advocate when communicating to their primary care provider.Observe and assess residents as needed and screen for COVID-19 every shift.Utilize walkie talkie to communicate with team members during shift.Physical Demands: Individual must possess the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. This position requires extensive walking, standing, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
