JOB PURPOSE: The LPN oversees the care to all residents which includes supervision of nursing staff, administration of medications and treatments. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES: (What is done, key responsibilities, primary tasks) EXPECTED OUTCOME SKILLS/COMPETENCIES 1 Plans, directs and provides resident care according to physician orders and the Interdisciplinary Plan of Care. Maximize resident functioning through consistent completion of work orders and care plans. Able to gather accurate data for RN to perform accurate assessment. Demonstrates good nursing practice according to licensing standards. Possesses organizational skills to prioritize work to meet changing daily needs of facility and residents. 2 Communicates changes in resident's condition in a timely fashion to include but not limited to the RN, physician, other disciplines, the following shift, and family members. Knowledgeable of current resident status and able to communicate care needs to Interdisciplinary care team, physician and family members. Able to gather accurate data for RN to perform accurate assessment.. Uses various methods of communication skills to emphasize priorities and obtain appropriate results. Practices proper customer service skills. 3 Administers medications and treatments in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and with the facility policies and procedures. Treatments and medications are provided timely and without error. The nurse will be able to assess and manage inappropriate responses to medications and related treatment plans. Know and understand proper use of medications. Know, understand and use appropriate measures of medication for distribution. Proper techniques used for all treatments and medications.
