Manufacturing Supervisor Location: US-NJ-Delran Email this job to a friend

Responsibilities: - Represent management. Communicate Values, Quality & Safety policies, Strategic Initiatives, Plant Goals, Policies, and information updates
- Lead and develop teammates to deliver positive outcomes in Safety, Quality, Delivery, & Cost
- Performance evaluation and management; includes annual reviews, performance improvement plans, disciplinary process, and employee engagement
- Lead and ensure effective employee relations with partnership from Human Resources
- Manage employee schedules, vacations, personal time, and any required overtime to meet business requirements
- Participate in interviewing and hiring direct labor
- Provide employee coaching and mentoring to a small team.
- Ensure compliance to the quality system and appropriate training of subordinates and self to include: GMP, product construction, quality, safety, process, and additional trainings as required
- Ensure a safe work environment for all employees; reinforce safety culture, support incident investigations & follow up, and support ergonomic initiatives.
- Connect with Finance material variances in the work orders.
- Proactively lead continuous improvement efforts through plant CTW projects in assigned departments utilizing lean tools and methodologies
- Actively manage production workflow and effectively communicate to direct reports.
- Ensure scheduled product shipments and receipts are properly executed
- Schedule and follow-up on repair and replacement of the department's equipment as needed.
- Support and execute any new product introductions or transfers
- Ensure all materials are accounted for and stored per plant SOP's. To include accurate quantities are available as noted in JDE for production and shipping.
- Act as an SME for annual PI's.
- Other responsibilities and projects as assigned
Requirements: - Associates degree in Textiles or Engineering
- Bachelors' of Science degree in Textiles or Engineering
- With Associate's degree at least eight years in a manufacturing/warehousing environment.
- With Bachelor's degree: Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment. Minimum 1 year experience supervising.
- Textile manufacturing experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to foster collaborative communication between multiple functions and employee levels.
- Ability to read and understand procedures, specifications and diagrams.
- Proficiency in common computer applications (eg. MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access etc.)
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred. Good interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and drive.
