Finance Manager - Group Accounting

Summary

Aristocrat is looking to hire a 12 month's fixed term Finance Manager. As a Manager within the Group Technical Accounting Team, the role has responsibility to assist Aristocrat achieve its short-term business and long-term strategic objectives by providing excellent financial advice and technical accounting support and guidance to the Group (including offshore locations), upholding the financial integrity and profitability of the company.
This role is also responsible for assisting in delivery of half and full year statutory compliance, monthly financial reporting, adhering to all requirements of Accounting Standards, ASX, Corporations Act and ASX listing rules, maintaining the integrity of the general ledgers across the Group and providing financial analysis.

What You'll Do


Meet monthly Financial and Half Year and Year End reporting requirements
Assist with the preparation of Half and Year End Statutory reports and Audit Committee Reporting, including Group Cash Flow Statement
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and corporate governance / statutory regulations
Drafting of accounting papers for significant technical accounting issues
Local financial statements preparation and review
Review month end transactions and balances for unusual items and follow up on these
Assist with ensuring close processes are effective and efficient in line with reporting needs
High level periodic reviews of balance sheet reconciliations
Advises stakeholders on accounting impacts of transactions / helps develop solutions to challenges with key focus on revenue recognition, share based payments and leasing
This role is key in supporting the external audit requirements


What We're Looking For


Candidate will be an active Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and most likely have completed their BA/BS in business, accounting, finance or related field with equivalent experience
Strong understanding of technical accounting principles
Good communicator who can present, write, and influence staff and management
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Adaptable to changing priorities
Detailed orientated and can meet tight deadlines
Detailed understanding of the importance of robust control environmentQualifications
A minimum of 5 years of technical accounting experience, preferably with experience in a Big 4 Accounting Firm
Have identified change initiatives to deliver process improvements and efficiency
Involved in technical accounting position assessments
Audit experience (either as an external auditor, or being involved in working with auditors)
