Position Overview: Under direction of the Cath Lab Management team and established policies and procedures, the Cath Lab/Medical Imaging RN Clinician will be responsible for patient care planning and assessment. Executes physician or nursing-initiated interventions and evaluates the response of those interventions. The RN assists in procedures within the Cath Lab as well as duties in Medical Imaging. Performs appropriate and complete documentation of patient care. Essential Functions: a) Patient assessment and documentation. b) Provides direct patient care. c) Administers medications according to policy and directed by physician. Extensive knowledge of IV conscious sedation. d) Promote a positive work environment. e) Provides patient/family with pertinent pre/post procedure education. f) Maintain flexibility to allow fulfillment of a variety of nursing duties.g) NCDR extensive knowledge of registry, data mining and entry. Physical Demands and Working Conditions: Physical Demands: Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods. Fine motor skills. Visual acuity. Qualifications & Skills:a) Education: Colorado RN license b) Training & Experience: BLS on hire; ACLS and PALS required within 9 months of hire. Cath Lab experience preferred. IV conscious sedation preferred. c) Job Knowledge: Anatomy and physiology, with a special emphasis on the cardiovascular system. Patient and staff education as it relates to cardiology and medical imaging. Critical care background necessary.
